Abstract

Experiments were carried out with cultivar of cucumber Ginga AG-77, with eight times of planting during 1986, 1987 and 1988, using two densities of planting, 13,333 plants/ha and 40,000 plants/ha. The objective of this study was to determine the basal temperature and heat units to cucumber in the region of great Florianópolis. The results showed that: 1. basal temperature by whole cycle is 8oC, and it wasn't possible to determine its values to each phenological stage; 2. the heat units average were 710, with a variation interval of 48.64 heat units; 3. the increase of air temperature seem not be meaningfull to the development of the cycle of vegetable after the fifth time of planting.
