The research showed that: (1) Gyfluthrin (Baythroid 050 CE), at 25.00 g a.i./ha is effective against boli weevil and pink bollworm; (2) the incidente of loculi damages by A. grandis is not suitable for evaluating insecticides against boli weevil; (3) the methods of application of cyfluthrin K+L (Bulldock 125 SC), at 7.50 g a.i./ha, with spraying of the insecticide in the alternate rows, and cypermethrin (Cymbush 30 ED), at 3.91 g a.i./ha, with the ElectroDyn sprayer nozzle taken along alternate inter-row space at 20 cm above the crop canopy, constitute optimum systems of utilization of this insecticides in the programs of management of the A. grandis e P. gossypiella; and (4) the reduction of the cost of boli weevil and pink bollworm control is obtained through the method used for applying the insecticide.
