Abstract

The micrograft technique have been used in citrus programs to obtain healthily or diseasefree material, without viruses like "tristeza", xiloporose, sorose and "exocortes": The rapid growth of this material, becoming able to be used in the index test, is greatly wished. In this paper, the method used obtention of rapid in vitro growth of citrus seedlings micrografter is described. In process, the micrografted seedlings are lateral-grafted in the stems of citrus plants, growing in pots under greenhouse conditions. Considering the better results obtained, with better growth and consequent reduction of the time necessary to obtain viable bud to realize the index test, and the method feasibility, its utilization in the works involving the use of micrograft for obtention of disease-free citrus plants is recomended.
