Abstract

- To evaluate the resistance of various Vitis spp. materials to Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. herbemontis a trial was carried out under controlled conditions during 1990 and 1991. The materials were rooted three months prior to the inoculation and they were compound by rootstocks (1 cm thick and 1.5 cm long), species and some Isabella seedlings. Hybrids rootstocks, of V. berlandieri x V. riparia as SO4, and others 1202 C and the Isabella seedlings 106, 30 and 678 were the most susceptible to this soil born disease. An intermediary resistance was observed on hybridis of V. berlandieri x V. rupestris, as Paulsen 1103, 140 Ru, and others as Tampa, crosses of Isabella x IAC-572, Isabella x 1202 C, and some exotic species. Finally, the highest resistance was found with Concord, Isabella and some seedlings derived from it.
