Abstract

The morphology of several stages of development of the tomato flower, cv. Santa Cruz Kada, grown under greenhouse conditions, was studied to know the appropriate flower stage for collecting pollen in order to insure maximum pollen germination in culture medium. Stages from 6 mm bud to mature flower were studied. The "K" stage, in which the flower is functional, was the model for collecting pollen for culture medium germination.
