Abstract

The present paper shows the performance of 16 rubber tree clones [Hevea brasiliensis (Willd. ex. Adr. de Juss.) Müell. Arg.], most of them IAC serial, originated from selections conducted within different full-sib progenies. After cloned the evaluation was conducted in small scale trial under a randomized complete block design established at Jaú, SP, Experimental Station. Yield expressed in dry rubber, stem girth, bark thickness and pannel anthracnose were evaluated. The clones IAN 873, IAC 41, and IAC 35 were classified as high yielding over the first four years of tapping. They produced 63%, 39% and 27% higher compared with the RRIM 600. Based on their performance their planting in small scale is recommended in the area where they were tested. In addition, their evaluation in large scale trial in different regions of the São Paulo State is suggested. The use of the clones IAC 59, IAC 105, PB 86, RRIM 600 as sources of pannel anthracnose resistance in breeding programmes is also suggested.
