Abstract

This research was carried out to determine different forms of potassium in regosol of the State of Paraiba, Brazil and to establish the possible relationships among them. The following parameters were analyzed: exchangeable K, nonexchangeable K, total K, K extracted by Bray 1, potassium potential and potassium buffering capacity (PBC). High relationships were found between the different forms of soil potassium. The nonexchangeable K did not present relationship with potassium potential. The soils studied presented low PBC, indicating possible nutrient losses through leaching.
