Wheat productivities depend upon the technologies generated by research. This work was carried out to verify if the increase in wheat productivity of the breeding trials in three counties of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, also occurred at farmers' level in these counties. Wheat productivity data obtained at Passo Fundo, Cruz Alta, and Santa Rosa counties, which belong to the group of counties where experiments are carried out under the coordination of the South-Brazilian Wheat Research Committee (CSBPT), called South-Brazilian Trial (ESB) and State Cultivar Trial (EEC), were used. It was observed that the technologies were not only restricted to the experimental areas, but they were adopted by the farmers. It can be concluded that the resources invested in wheat research returned to the society through technologies leading to higher productivity.Downloads
