Abstract

Cytogenetics of “Marchadora Brasileira” donkeys had their karyotype prepared and banded with C, G and NOR, being 2n = 62 e NF = 107. The objective of this work was to contribute for the karyotyping of the species and to verify possible polymorphisms in the animals. The karyotype was organized into six groups: the first group included seven pairs submetacentric to matacentric; the second, six subtelocentric; the third, five acrocentric; the fourth, two subgroups with three each one, subtelocentric and submetacentric; and the fifth group contained the smallest metacentric and the sexuals, X submetacentric and Y acrocentric, on the side of the third group. According to banding C, chromosome 7 was strongly marked, the G permitted homologous agroupment and NOR marked seven pairs.
