Abstract

In order to meet the demand for open cross corn cultivars with high yield potencial, adapted to Southern Brazil temperate climate conditions, Embrapa Trigo in partnership with Embrapa Milho e Sorgo has developed BRS Missões cultivar. It is an early cycle, dented yellow kernel and has high yield potencial. It is moderately resistant to commun rust (Puccinia sorghi), polysora rust (Puccinia polysora), turcicum leaf spot (Exserohilum turcicum) and phaeosphaeria leaf spot (Phaeospheria maydis). It is recommended for Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and south of Paraná State.
