This article describes the importance of the Piper nigrum crop in the rural economy of the State of Pará, the agronomic researches that look for the control of the Piper nigrum fusariose, and the difficulties of the usual improvement for its control. Among the current on going researches there are cases where tradicional and new methodologies are combined. A new model of financing that help the enlargement new methods of research is proposed.Downloads
