Abstract

Eighteen progenies of Lotus corniculatus L., cv. São Gabriel and 17 progenies of Lotus uliginosus Schkuhr., cv. Maku were evaluated, in Gauíba, RS, Brazil. The progenies were seeded in rows and compared with the originary cultivars. To L. corniculatus the data showed significative differences between the progenies for initial number of plants, dry matter production, flowering initiation and in vitro digestibility percent of dry matter. The correlation between dry matter yield and plants height on first cut was positive and significative. For L. uliginosus the data did not show difference between the progenies for anyone of the characteristics studied.
