The author conducted an experimental intoxication test on 12 dogs using Alpha Naphthyl Thiourea (ANTU). The ANTU was administered through the food. The experiment resulted in death of almost all of the animals. In a group of 12 dogs, 9 died as a consequence of the poison, and 3 dogs showed tolerance. These 3 were subsequently sacrified. Lung edema, a characteristic of this intoxication, was observed in 10 cases. In 9 cases the edema was coexistent with hydrothorax, another suggestive symptom of intoxication by ANTU.
