Abstract

An experiment was carried out in the Macaé Experimental Station in the Experimental Field of Quiçamã, Macaé District, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil with the cultivar Smooth Cayenne (Ananas comosus) with the objective of verifying the effect of Fruitone C.P.A. chlorophenoxypropionic acid) at different application times on the weight, dimensions and quality and crown length. The effect of Fruitone C.P.A. applied twelve, thirteen, fourteen and fifteen weeks after pineapple flowering induction was studied. The treatment with Fruitone C.P.A. applied thirteen weeks after flowering induction yielded heavier fruits and smaller crowns. There was no influence on the acidity and total solids content ci the fruit.
