Abstract

The main factors affecting fruit quality of banana are concerned with ripening and commercial banana handling post harvest. Although Brazil shows high yielding, lack of knowledge in harvesting and handling will result in a substantial waste and low quality of fruits. In consequence, this review will consider the factors determining marketing top quality bananas with respect of transport, treatments, grading, packing and quality changes after harvest.
