An investigation of the association between egg weight and hatchability was made with eggs from Plymouth x Cornish females. Interpretation of our results and of data from other sources is discussed. Egg weight was classified in four classes, in a range from 50 to 70 grams. Eggs of low weight (50-55 g) and large ones (65-70 g) had lower hatchability than medium ones (55-60 and 60-65 g).
