Abstract

Climatic chamber (22 – 25°C and 32 – 35°C) was used to determine water and feed with four metabolizable energy level diets: normal level 10% above the normal, and 10 and 20% below the normal level for 30 kg liveweight ovines. The conclusions were: 1. Dry matter, digestible dry matter and digestible energy intake was higher at 22 – 25°C; 2. Energy levels did not affect dry matter, digestible dry matter, digestible energy and digestible protein intake; and 3. Water consumption was directly associated to the environmental temperature.
