In order to study the development of soybean Glycine max (L.) Merrill in vitro, hypocotil sections were used under a modified medium of Murashige e Skoog, coconut water (10%) and five levels of ANA (0,0; 1,0; 2,0; 3,0 and 4,0 mg/l) isolated or combined with the same levels of kinetin. After 85 days, it was observed that in the absence of kinetin, roots were induced in all levels of ANA, but in the absence of growth regulators roots were not differentiated. The number of alive explants was not influenced by different concentrations of ANA and kinetin, since in their absence 100% of them were alive. Fresh and dry weights were induced at the absence or higher concentration of kinetin, while ANA in higher concentration increased both weights.
