Abstract

The agribusiness gross domestic product (GDP) accounted for 22.08% of the national GDP, in the last year of the period from 2005 to 2017. Within the sector, the largest share was given by the agriservices aggregate, which averaged 53.02% of the total agribusiness GDP. This active presence shows that there are downstream links of great relevance to be considered. The values found for the beef cattle GDP show 15.98% of participation in the agribusiness GDP, also primarily represented by agriservices that had an accumulated increase of 25.39% in the period. The input-output matrix method allowed of the observation of all growth and fall rates of selected aggregates of beef cattle (inputs, agribusiness, agro-industry, and agriservices), in which the main decrease is attributed to the agribusiness with an accumulated percentage of 11.25% . With these findings, it is possible to determine the dependence of beef cattle, agribusiness, and the national economy of each household and, thereby, design scenarios and better management behaviors.
