A digital micrometer for measuring egg albumen height was built using a modified mechanical micrometer as a height sensor. This micrometer generates two trains of 90 degrees pulse out of the phase to be used by the electronic circuitry to measure the height. The electronic circuitry using CMOS technology has phase detectors, decade counters, seven-segment decoders, and a circuit to detect the albumen surface. This micrometer can be used to measure up to 20 mm with 0,1 mm of resolution.
